Grayslake, Illinois—May 01, 2008: Today,
author Kathy A. Worth of Grayslake is the subject of a feature article in the Grayslake Review, a Chicago Sun-Times
News Group publication. Reporter Marcia Sagendorph interviewed Ms. Worth for the page five piece, titled: "Literary
award more than just a pipe dream." Press photographer Joe Shuman took pictures for the story.
The
article recounts the author's journey in researching, writing and publishing Back From The Ashes: Uncovering
the Lost History of G. L. Hunt and the Falcon Pipe - culminating in the author's recent trip to the Illinois
State Capitol, where the Illinois State Historical Society presented her with an esteemed literary award for
the book.
"The trip to Springfield and the awards luncheon at the Governor's Mansion were really amazing,"
Ms. Worth remarked. "To receive such a prestigious award in such an historical setting was truly awesome and humbling."

~ K. A. Worth Receives 2008 Book Award
at Governor's Mansion in Springfield ~
Grayslake, Illinois—April 28, 2008: Author
Kathy A. Worth of Grayslake traveled to Springfield, Illinois, on April 26, where the Illinois State Historical Society
(ISHS) presented her with a prestigious 2008 book award for her first published work, Back From The Ashes:
Uncovering the Lost History of G. L. Hunt and the Falcon Pipe.
In conjunction with the 109th Annual Meeting of the ISHS, Ms. Worth received the award at the Society’s
Annual Awards Luncheon, held in the ballroom of the Governor’s Mansion at Fifth and Jackson Streets in downtown
Springfield.
“My family is thrilled
and I am honored to have won such an esteemed award,” remarked Ms. Worth. “To date, the worldwide
pipe community has enthusiastically received Back From The Ashes—and for the Illinois State Historical Society to also
recognize the book’s value means the world to us...we are particularly proud that our grandfather
now has his own special place in Illinois history.”
